We raise - Grey and Magpie Call ducks.
Call ducks are part of the Bantam waterfowl division. Bantams are the miniatures of the duck family. They have many charms and are quite adorable. They are small and are more easily cared for because they require much less space. They also eat less than larger forms of waterfowl. The most endearing quality of the little Call is its friendliness and its ability to adapt so easily to human company.
The
call duck is a direct descendant of the wild mallard originating in
Holland. Years ago the little ducks were used as live decoys by
waterfowl hunters. The hunters would tie-out female calls, and due
to the little bird's talkative nature, she would call in wild birds for
the hunter. Calls are primarily used for exhibition, decoration, and
as pets today.
They have a lot of personality!
