About the Breed
The Border Collie originated in the border country between Scotland and England. The selective breeding over hundreds of years developed the Border Collie's intensity, energy, and trainability. Breeding based on these qualities and working ability has made this breed the world's premier sheep herding dog.
We currently have one Border Collie that helps with the daily chores of moving our sheep. My very first dog was a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix and she was such a loving, devoted companion. I really enjoy having a Border Collie again.
